Our Mission

Too many Albertans struggle with treatment-resistant mental health conditions, chronic pain, and neurological disorders without access to effective alternatives. Bloom rTMS exists to change that. We believe everyone deserves access to evidence-based, non-invasive treatments that can truly transform lives.

How rTMS Works

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is a breakthrough therapy that uses magnetic fields to stimulate specific brain regions.

Non-Invasive

No surgery, no anesthesia, no sedation. Simply magnetic pulses delivered through a coil placed on your scalp.

Fast-Track Available

Theta Burst Stimulation (TBS) offers treatment in just 3 minutes per session, compared to 15-25 minutes for standard rTMS.

Safe & Well-Tolerated

Health Canada and FDA approved with minimal side effects. Most patients experience only mild scalp discomfort that decreases over time.

Maintenance Therapy

After your initial treatment course, periodic maintenance sessions can help sustain your improvements long-term.

Neuroplasticity

rTMS harnesses your brain's natural ability to form new neural connections, promoting lasting changes in brain function.

Complementary

Works alongside your existing medications and therapy. Many patients eventually reduce their medication with their doctor's guidance.

Safety & Side Effects

rTMS is one of the safest brain stimulation therapies available. It has been extensively studied and is approved by Health Canada and the FDA for treating depression and OCD, with growing evidence supporting its use for many other conditions.

Common Side Effects (Mild & Temporary):

  • Scalp discomfort or tingling at the treatment site
  • Mild headache
  • Facial muscle twitching during treatment
  • Lightheadedness

These side effects typically decrease after the first few sessions. Serious side effects, such as seizures, are extremely rare (less than 0.1% of patients). rTMS does not cause memory loss, does not require anesthesia, and has no systemic side effects like weight gain or sexual dysfunction commonly seen with medications.
